Pass It Forward is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on a simple belief: reliable transportation can change a life. Founded by a nurse practitioner and an experienced automotive technician, we combine compassion with hands‑on expertise to give youth aging out of foster care and local families a real chance to succeed.
In the Greater Tampa Bay area, thousands face daily challenges simply because they don’t have dependable transportation. Without a car, getting to work, school, or medical appointments becomes a constant struggle. That’s where we step in.
We accept donated vehicles, running or not, and work with our trusted partner, R.I. Automotive, to repair them and make them road‑ready. Then we match those cars with people who need them most. Every donation stays local, every car gets inspected and restored, and every gift drives opportunity forward.

Pass It Forward started with Idania Ettienne, a lifelong nurse and nurse practitioner, and Collin Ettienne, a seasoned automotive technician, business owner, and retired firefighter. Together, they saw a way to blend compassion with skill, helping people get the transportation they need to thrive.
Today, that vision has grown into a network of mechanics, volunteers, and community partners who share a common goal: make reliable transportation accessible to those who need it most. From turning wrenches to coordinating outreach, every member of our team plays a part in building a stronger Tampa Bay, one car at a time.
